Fine Art Portraits are coming to Cookie Dough Boutique on November 8th!

Hi!

My name is Nicole and I am your photographer for our Fine Art Portrait pop-up event at Cookie Dough Boutique. We are so excited to partner with the fantastic Pencil Cactus who make the most beautiful prints and frames! I believe children's portraits should be fun and laid back, so I don't put pressure on kids to stay still in stiff poses or force them to smile for my camera. I find joy in capturing children just as they are!

Here are some tips to help you make the most of photo day:

Make sure your child knows they will be having their portrait taken, but ensure them it will be quick and fun!

For the best results, make sure your child is wearing something comfortable. Keep in mind that the photo will be taken from around the chest up. When choosing their outfit, keep in mind that you can choose one backdrop color for your child(ren). One is buttermilk white and one is black (see examples in photos on this page).

I do not recommend dressing children in bright/neon colors as this can throw off the coloring of the entire digital image. For example if they wear bright red, there will be a cast of red over their face.

Keep their hair styles simple. Definitely do something cute if you'd like, but I would avoid lots of clips or anything that can easily fall off or be pulled out. We want the focus of the portrait to be the child!

To assure your child is in the best spirits possible, try to have them well fed and rested before you bring them to Cookie Dough!

You can show your kiddos my photo before photo day so they are a little bit familiar with me if you'd like! Just scroll to the bottom of this page!

We look forward to meeting your child and capturing their personality with a timeless portrait!

Frequently Asked Questions

When will I receive my photos?

Within 5 days of photo day, you will have access to a private online image gallery where you can download your digital images. Soon after, your prints and frames will be ready for pick up at Cookie Dough - we'll be sure to let you know when!

Are the photos edited?

I hand edit each photo to bring about an artistic, timeless look. I do not remove anything permanent such as scars, freckles, moles, etc. I kindly ask that you do your best on photo day to have little faces and noses wiped before having their photo taken. If you have special retouching requests, a $25 retouching fee applies to each image.

Will the photos be watermarked?

No, you will receive your digital gallery with no watermarks.

How many photos will be in the final gallery?

I do my best to have 5-10 unique images in both color and black and white of each child. Please keep in mind that some children are more relaxed and willing to be expressive in front of the camera, while others may be more reserved. I will not force kids to do anything they are not comfortable with, but I will capture them as they are, which I believe is always beautiful. This means that some children may have more photos in their gallery than others and some children may not even make eye contact with the camera!

Can you take sibling portraits?

Yes! We have packages for sibling portraits if you have more than one child. As mentioned before, I won't force kids to do anything they aren't comfortable with, so sibling portraits can have a wide variety of results.

Do you do other types of photography?

Yes! I specialize in family, maternity and newborn photography, as well as photograph graduating seniors, couples, professional headshots, and fresh 48. You can see my portfolio here. I am currently booking sessions for the rest of 2025.
